The Knowne Worlde (everywhere there are members of the Society for Creative Anachronism) is divided into seventeen Kingdoms and a number of Principalities. These major regions are further divided into Baronies, Shires, Cantons and Colleges.

The Shire of Loch Ruadh (lok roo) is a part of the Central Region of the Kingdom of Ansteorra (ONS-tay-oh-ra), which is comprised of Texas and Oklahoma (except for that small part of Texas, which is in the Mountain Time zone).
